  • Internship Strategic / Service Design – Designing Meaningful Learning Journeys for Future Bankers

    Supporting young bankers in developing confidence, speed, and adaptability in a rapidly evolving environment shaped by technology, societal change, and regulatory complexity.

    You & your future

    During this graduation internship, you will work on your career at Rabobank by completing a graduation project focused on how bankers develop from junior to senior roles. You will explore how expertise, confidence and learning evolve over time and how Rabobank can strengthen this journey in a human‑centred and future‑ready way.

    You will translate research into concrete design directions that support stronger performance, sustainable knowledge development and greater value for clients. The outcomes of your work contribute directly to how Rabobank prepares its bankers to work effectively alongside emerging AI technologies.

    You will carry out this assignment within Wholesale & Rural (W&R), where bankers guide clients through complex financial decisions, sector dynamics and strategic transitions.

    Examples of projects/tasks

    • Researching the current learning and development journeys of bankers across different seniority levels.
    • Identifying barriers, unmet needs and opportunity areas within learning, expertise building and role progression.
    • Translating insights into strategic design directions, concepts or interventions that strengthen learning and performance.
    • Designing, prototyping and testing services, tools or experience concepts in which human expertise and AI complement each other.

    You & your role

    As a Strategic / Service Design Intern, you understand the essence of analysing complex development and learning challenges within organisations. You explore how people build expertise, gain confidence and grow in their professional roles. Using a human‑centred design approach, you translate insights into meaningful concepts that connect people, processes and technology. You work independently and in co‑creation with stakeholders to deliver insights and prototypes that are relevant and actionable.

    You & your talent

    • Enrolled in a master’s degree in design: Industrial Design, Design for Interaction, Innovative Design, New Media Design
    • Proactive, self‑driven, and able to take ownership of work
    • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills
    • Collaborative mindset, comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams
    • Familiar with service design methods such as user research, journey mapping, service bluepriting, prototyping, etc
    • Based in The Netherlands
