Holiday Allowance at Rabobank

Curious how holiday allowance is arranged at Rabobank? On this page, you’ll find out what holiday allowance is, what you’re entitled to, how to calculate it, and when it’s paid out. We’ll also explain how it works if you have a temporary contract or are doing an internship.

What is holiday allowance and what are you entitled to?

Holiday allowance is an additional payment on top of your salary. By law, you’re entitled to at least 8% of your gross annual salary each year. Originally, this allowance was meant to help employees pay for a vacation, but nowadays you decide how to spend it.

Calculate your holiday allowance

At Rabobank, holiday allowance is part of your total compensation package. You receive 8% of your gross annual salary as holiday pay.

Example calculation:
Let’s say you earn €3,500 gross per month. That means you build up €280 in holiday allowance each month (8% of €3,500). Over a year, that adds up to €3,360.

Use the Salary Checker to see how much holiday allowance applies to the salary scale of a role you’re interested in.

When is holiday allowance paid?

If the Rabobank CLA applies to you, you can choose how your holiday allowance is paid:

  • Standard option: Your holiday allowance is paid monthly, in 12 equal installments, together with your salary.
  • Prefer a one-time payment? You can choose to receive your full holiday allowance in one lump sum in May.

Holiday allowance with a temporary contract or internship

Do you have a temporary contract and fall under the Rabobank CLA? Then you’re entitled to holiday allowance.
Are you doing an internship? Then you’re not covered by the CLA and you won’t receive holiday allowance from Rabobank.
