Tech Lead Integration

As Tech Lead Integration, you lead four Integration platform squads across API Management, Event Streaming, File Transfer, MQ, and Workflow Automation. You connect run, change, and innovation, guard the integral IT approach across tribes, and turn complex integration challenges into secure, scalable, self-service solutions that engineers can rely on every day.

You & Your Role

You are responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of four Integration platform squads within Area Integration. In a changing environment, you keep squads and stakeholders engaged, make clear technology choices, and ensure reliable services for Rabobank engineers and customers.

• Lead four Integration platform squads and align delivery with the overall IT strategy.
• Drive operational excellence, innovation, vendor management, and platform evolution across the integration landscape.
• Manage budgets, delivery performance, and improvement of development and maintenance processes.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, lifecycle, and availability standards.
• Foster a high-performance engineering culture through coaching, collaboration, automation, and scalable integration solutions.
• Promote clear integration patterns, robust self-service platforms, and cross-squad knowledge sharing.

Area Integration is part of Engineering Services within Tribe Tech4Engineering and is responsible for Rabobank’s Engineer’s Integration Journey. Across 10 squads, we deliver robust self-service platforms, drive standards for integration excellence, and work with engineering communities to make application data exchanges instant and effortless.

Whenever there is data exchange between applications, Area Integration comes into the picture. Our platforms cover API Management, Event Streaming, File Transfer, MQ, and Workload Scheduling and automation. A dedicated squad also focuses on transformation with bridges and connectors.

You & your talent

As Tech Lead, you bring high-tech savviness in software engineering, integration, security, and performance. You are experienced in scaled Agile, understand the risk and compliance needs of a bank, and have a broad interest and opinion on IT trends. You are a self-starter who takes ownership, hires the right people, and works directly with leadership and squads to create positive customer impact.

It is important that you have the following characteristics:

• Academic working and thinking level, with at least 3 years of experience in similar leadership roles within complex IT environments.
• Proven experience leading DevOps teams in a scaled Agile setting, driving autonomy and High Performance Engineering.
• Strong people leadership skills, comfortable managing a span of control of approximately 30 offshore employees.
• Expertise in IT quality, security, compliance, and future-proof technology, with a passion for digitalization and innovation.
• Excellent English communication skills and the ability to balance business interests and risks while remaining decisive in challenging discussions.
