As Tech Lead for Area DMAC (Data Model, Analytics & Calculations), you help squads deliver reliable, secure and scalable data and analytics capabilities that matter to our customers and colleagues. You provide technical direction, set engineering standards, and enable teams to make smart trade-offs between speed, quality and risk. In a continuously changing environment, your leadership will help DMAC deliver outcomes with predictable flow, high availability and of high quality.

As Tech Lead for Area DMAC you translate strategy into a clear technical roadmap and ensure delivery excellence across DevOps squads that build and run solutions on Azure. You are a tactical sparring partner within the Area Leadership Team and collaborate closely with Product/Area leadership, Business Architects and peers in the Tech Domain. You take end-to-end ownership of key DMAC services and data products, strengthening engineering practices across Java services, Databricks workloads and Power BI consumption. You foster a strong engineering culture.

You will work with engineers, product owners, business analysts, architects and security specialists to deliver solutions that are stable, compliant and future-proof. Responsibilities:

  • Tech Domain representative in the Area Leadership Team (steering triangle) together with the Area Lead, Cluster Leads and Area Business Architect, driving the technical vision for Data Models Analytics & Calculations;
  • Make data-driven decisions by weighing continuity, business value, technical feasibility and operational risk;
  • Accountable for standardization, stability, resilience and security of DMAC services and data products including compliance with relevant policies, controls and data governance;
  • Lead and support one or more DevOps squads (hybrid setup, e.g., Utrecht and offshore locations) that deliver IT solutions, a healthy team dynamics and delivery predictability;
  • Manage vendor and sourcing relationships where applicable (e.g., platform/tooling support, contracts, performance, quality and compliance, sourcing strategy);
  • Improve engineering ways of working (CI/CD, automated testing, observability, data quality checks, incident & problem management);
  • Proactively manage dependencies with other Areas and Domains, aligning on data contracts, APIs, interfaces, shared datasets and enterprise standards;
  • Attract, coach and develop engineering talent; support growth paths, hiring and internal mobility;
  • You foster a culture where psychological safety, craftsmanship, ownership and continuous learning are central.

Practical examples

  • Continuity & reliability: You are the system owner for one or more DMAC systems, services and data products. You organize on-call/incident response, define SLA’s, set up proactive monitoring and drive good incident and problem management so incidents lead to structural improvements.
  • Security & compliance: You ensure secure-by-design delivery across all technologies (threat modelling, secure coding, dependency management, least privilege and timely remediation, etc.). You make risks visible, align with security stakeholders and make sure controls are implemented according to standards.
  • People leadership: You coach the people in your squads and support development topics (performance and growth conversations, hiring, onboarding and team health). You create clarity on expectations and help people grow in craftsmanship and ownership.
  • IT Delivery: You are responsible for predictable delivery of committed epics in Area DMAC. You remove impediments or escalate them when this is needed, ensure good refinement and technical alignment, and coordinate with stakeholders so squads can deliver with quality and sustainable pace.

You & your talent

  • Academic working and thinking level;
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in roles where you led teams within (complex) IT environments;
  • Knowledge of DevOps teams scaled Agile, IT automation;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the IT environment;
  • You are a team player;
  • You are organizationally strong and know your way around the organization;
  • You have execution skills to deliver committed results and are able to guide squads on a content level and on IT related topics;
  • You have an entrepreneurial profile and change mindset;
  • Management‑level fluency in Dutch and English and (spoken and written).
