You & your role
As a Tech Lead, you are an experienced technology leader with a proven track record in complex IT environments and organizational change. You combine a strong technical foundation with the ability to provide vision, navigate complexity, and lead people through transformation.
Together with the other Tech Leads in Tech4(Dev)Ops, you help drive the evolution of Tech4Ops from a platform-centric organization to a provider of standardized services. Your focus is on enabling engineers across the bank to work independently with our services through clear standards, automation, AI remediation and self-service capabilities. In this role, you help shape the future of IT Operations, Monitoring, Observability and AIOps within Rabobank, with impact on the way IT4IT services support approximately 1,250 IT squads across the bank.
You lead an organization of approximately 30 internal and external colleagues (beside DevOps Engineers also Scrum masters and Solution Architects), including offshore team members. A key part of your role is helping people embrace new ways of working. You create clarity, inspire ownership, and support teams in shifting from managing platforms to delivering services.
Your leadership style is rooted in multiplier principles. You help people understand not only what needs to change, but also why it matters. You use your technical background to challenge assumptions, identify patterns, and help teams make sound decisions. Rather than providing all the answers, you enable others to achieve their best work.
You are comfortable making difficult decisions, even when there is no perfect answer or universal agreement. You can make unpopular decisions when needed to improve long-term outcomes, service reliability and team effectiveness.
You are a strong communicator and storyteller who can articulate a compelling vision, align stakeholders, and build momentum for change. You are decisive, politically aware, and able to recognize both technical and organizational patterns that influence long-term success.

About Tech4Ops
Tech4Ops is the engineering backbone that keeps Rabobank’s digital environment running safely, reliably, and intelligently. We provide standards in essential operational capabilities to all IT squads across the bank, ensuring that applications, platforms, and infrastructure remain healthy, observable, and secure.
Our work spans several core domains:
- Log data ingestion – centralising and organising operational telemetry from across the bank.
- Monitoring & observability – delivering real‑time dashboards, alerts, performance insights and end‑to‑end visibility for thousands of applications and services.
- Security monitoring (SIEM)– identifying and defending against external threats with advanced detection capabilities.
- Incident response – ensuring rapid reaction to disruptions with minimal customer and business impact.
- Vulnerability management – giving engineering teams and pen testers the tools to identify, track, and address potential weaknesses early and effectively.
As the new Tech Lead Monitoring & Observability, you will work closely with the two other Tech Leads in the area. Together, you form the technical leadership that sets direction for the sourcing and delivery strategy and running the operation within the area. Collaborating closely with the business architect and area lead is also an integral part of your responsibilities.
Together we achieve more than alone
We believe in the power of differences. It is precisely by combining people's differences that we become an even better bank. We are curious about what you add to our team.
You operate within the Tech4Ops area which is a subarea of Tech4DevOps within the Tech4Engineering Tribe. Your focus is explicitly on Monitoring, Observability, and AIOps, while security monitoring/services remains part of the wider area.
Work on yourself and the world around you at the same time

You can work on banking services for our private and business customers, as well as societal issues such as food and energy transitions.
