About the Role
As a Relationship Deposits Specialist, you will be an integral member of the Deposits AU Team, supporting one of the bank’s growing and strategically important areas. This role plays a critical part in delivering exceptional client experiences while ensuring strong prudential and operational outcomes.
You will act as the central point of contact for Relationship Deposits clients and their advisors, managing the end-to-end journey from initial client request through to account opening and ongoing account management. This includes overseeing onboarding processes, conducting comprehensive CDD, AML/CTF and KYC risk analysis, and ensuring all prudential and regulatory obligations are met.
In addition to onboarding new clients, you will manage existing deposit relationships, providing ongoing support to help clients achieve their financial goals and aspirations. Your work will combine strong client engagement with operational excellence, ensuring a seamless and compliant client experience.
Context of the Role
Country Banking forms the core of Rabobank Australia’s business, with a network of 61 branches and a well-established reputation as a leading provider of specialised banking services to the Food and Agribusiness sector.
Deposits AU sits within Country Banking and is responsible for managing a diverse and growing portfolio, including:
- Country Banking deposits
- Rabobank Online Savings
- Adviser Services
- Relationship Deposits
The Relationship Deposits team focuses on onboarding and managing deposit clients outside the agribusiness sector, supporting customers with transactional banking as well as at-call, fixed savings, and investment products.
As this function continues to grow, the team will play a key role in scaling the deposits business nationally, with a phased rollout across states and a future focus on managing all deposit-only customers within the Relationship Deposits model.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Deliver fast, efficient service to new and existing clients
- Drive strong collaboration through clear, effective communication across teams
- Manage end-to-end onboarding and applications for Deposits clients
- Perform AML/CTF, KYC and CDD risk assessments with accuracy and judgement
- Process documentation and accounts promptly, ensuring precision and compliance
- Use workflow tools to track workload and maintain visibility for stakeholders
- Conduct client reviews in line with policy and monitor account performance
- Partner with stakeholders to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Build strong internal relationships across the organisation
- Maintain strict compliance with regulatory, audit and bank requirements
- Provide responsive administrative and client support as needed

Job Skills and Knowledge:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role or within banking, finance or agriculture (as a guide).
• Ability to interpret and execute branch prudential management tasks and other associated operational tasks.
• Strong understanding of risk analysis in AML/CTF and KYC requirements.
• Possess a strong understanding of client structures.
• Experience working within a customer service environment.
• Strong knowledge of Deposits.
• Strong communication at all levels both written and verbal.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external clients.
• Capacity to work towards timeframe and manage client expectations.
• Developed planning and organisational skills to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work effectively with no supervision and within a team environment.
