You & your role
As Manager Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) W&R, you play a pivotal role within Rabobank's second line of responsibility. You are responsible for the oversight of Financial Economic Crime (FEC) risks across Wholesale & Rural (W&R), while acting as the designated AML, CTF & Sanctions Officer for W&R Europe, Africa and Asia.
In this highly visible leadership position, you provide independent challenge, advice, and oversight to senior business stakeholders, ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, sanctions and anti-bribery & corruption regulations. You lead a global team of specialists and act as a trusted advisor to senior management, regulators, and supervisory authorities.
You combine deep subject matter expertise with strong leadership capabilities and strategic influence. Your focus is on safeguarding the effectiveness of Rabobank's financial crime framework, identifying emerging risks, and ensuring robust governance and regulatory compliance across multiple regions.
Examples from practice
- Advising senior business management on a high-risk client case and determining whether escalation to executive management is required.
- Leading the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Reporting function through functional oversight and steering, ensuring effective suspicious transaction reporting to relevant authorities.
- Coordinating regulatory inspections and engaging directly with regulators, supervisors, and law enforcement agencies regarding financial crime compliance matters.

- 40 hours per week
- Responsible for approximately 90 FTE across multiple regions.
- Member of the FCC Management Team and the broader Compliance Management Team.
- Contributing to oversight of a first-line FEC organization with a budget exceeding EUR 642 million.
- Operating in a global environment covering Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, South America, and Australia/New Zealand.
Top 3 responsibilities
1. Drive Financial Crime Compliance oversight
You oversee the end-to-end FCC framework for Wholesale & Rural, ensuring compliance with AML, CTF, sanctions and ABC regulations. You challenge, advise and influence senior stakeholders while safeguarding the effectiveness of controls, governance and risk management practices.
2. Lead a global FCC organization
You lead and develop an international team of approximately 90 professionals and maintain functional oversight of Regional AML, CTF & Sanctions Officers. You create a high-performing culture focused on quality, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
3. Act as strategic advisor and regulatory representative
You serve as a key point of contact for regulators and supervisory authorities, oversee regulatory examinations and remediation activities, and provide thought leadership on evolving financial crime risks and regulatory developments.

You & your talent
Education
- University degree or equivalent academic working and thinking level.
- Certified Compliance Officer (DSI registered) or equivalent.
- Relevant Financial Crime Compliance qualification.
Experience
- At least 7 years of experience within financial services.
- Extensive experience in a senior Financial Crime Compliance, Compliance, Legal or Regulatory role.
- Proven leadership experience within a complex banking or financial services environment.
- Experience with international AML, CTF, sanctions and ABC regulations.
- Demonstrated experience managing regulatory inspections, remediation programs and interactions with regulators and law enforcement authorities.
- Strong track record in developing and implementing Financial Crime Compliance frameworks and controls.
Knowledge
- Thorough understanding of AML, CTF, sanctions and ABC legislation and regulatory expectations.
- Strong knowledge of banking products, processes and systems.
- Deep expertise in identifying, assessing and managing financial crime risks.
- Understanding of global regulatory developments and cross-border financial crime risks.

- Salary Scale EKI: € 226.467,20 to € 290.209,47 (annual total fixed income)
