Senior DevOps Engineer / Senior IAM Engineer

You are a senior DevOps engineer with strong expertise in One Identity and Identity Governance & Administration and test automation. Your strength lies in analyzing, remediating, improving, and automating IAM services in complex and regulated environments. You are experienced in automating and creating tools in support of the software development life cycle, results-oriented, critical thinker, problem-solver, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.You combine engineering depth with a strong understanding of control effectiveness, evidencing, and sustainable service improvement.

As Senior DevOps Engineer Control Automation 4 Employees, you play a key role in strengthening the current IGA services so they become more effective, more controllable, and more scalable. You contribute not only to the development and maintenance of IAM solutions, but also to the structural remediation of control deficiencies and the automation of service and control activities. In this role, you help move the squad from reactive control support to sustainable and predictable delivery of compliant IAM services.

You and your job

Identity & Access Management is key for Rabobank, as it provides employees and machines with access to the resources they need to perform their work in a secure, simple, and controlled way. Within Tribe IAM, the Control Automation 4 Employees squad develops and maintains IAM capabilities in One Identity that support secure provisioning, modification, and revocation of access for Rabobank employees.

As Senior One Identity DevOps Engineer, you work in Area IAM4Employees and contribute directly to the remediation and further development of current IGA services in One Identity. Your focus is on automation and creating tools in support of the software development life to make the environment easier to maintain, compliant and easy to maintain.

You work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts from the Control Execution & Automation team, IAM Risk & Compliance, and fellow engineers to ensure that control findings and service weaknesses are translated into sustainable improvements within the squad backlog. You understand that effective IAM services are not only functional, but also controllable, traceable, and automation-ready.

This is not a standard DevOps engineering role. It is a senior engineering role in which you combine service remediation, technical improvement, and control automation in a highly regulated environment. You help strengthen the squad’s maturity by embedding more sustainable engineering patterns, improving evidencing and monitoring, and reducing recurring manual effort in both service delivery and control execution.

• You remediate existing One Identity services and configurations to improve control effectiveness, service stability, and audit readiness.
• You establish test automation for the entire One Identity service.
• You automate manual service and control-related activities where possible to improve efficiency, consistency, and traceability.
• You translate control findings, operational issues, and technical risks into sustainable engineering improvements.
• You improve the quality of evidencing, monitoring, and technical substantiation for IAM services that are in scope of control execution.
• You contribute to scalable and reusable engineering patterns within the One Identity landscape.

• You drive automation of service and control-related activities in order to reduce manual effort and increase consistency, traceability, and control maturity.
• You design and implement structural automation improvements in One Identity services that remediate deficiencies and improve the effectiveness of IAM controls.
• You work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and fellow engineers to translate findings into backlog-ready technical solutions that can be embedded in the squad’s way of working.

You and your talent

• Academic working and thinking level, preferably with a Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field.
• Extensive experience as a DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, or IAM Engineer in a complex IT environment.
• Experienced in automating and creating tools to support the software development life cycle. Results-oriented, critical thinker, problem-solver, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Familiar with SQA testing and methodologies, API and UI test automation and pipeline automation
• Strong hands-on experience with One Identity Manager and Identity Governance & Administration patterns.
• You are proficient in SQL and able to independently analyze, validate, and improve data quality, queries and control-relevant datasets within the One Identity landscape.
• You have a strong hands-on experience and are proficient in relevant supporting technologies such as SQL Server, APIs/web services, scripting and automation tooling, job services, data mapping, and system integrations within a complex IAM/IGA environment.
• Strong knowledge of IAM concepts and principles, including provisioning, deprovisioning, recertification, reconciliation, Segregation of Duties, RBAC, ABAC, PBAC, and API orchestration.
• Demonstrated experience in remediation and improvement of existing IAM services, rather than only greenfield development.
• Experience with automating manual service activities, control-related activities, or evidencing and monitoring processes.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify root causes behind recurring technical or control deficiencies.
• Ability to translate technical and control findings into sustainable design and implementation improvements.
• Experience working in a regulated environment with high expectations on traceability, evidencing, and operational control.
• Strong communication in English is required.
• Able to work effectively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Risk & Compliance, architects, and engineers across squads.
• Comfortable operating in a setting where priorities are influenced by both service delivery and control maturity objectives.
• Strong judgment and decision making.
• Strong complex problem-solving skills.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to raise the maturity of others in the team.
