You and Your Job

As a GEM Summer Commodities Intern, you will provide analytical and project support to RaboResearch Global Economics and Markets management and the Commodities Research team. You will work with fundamental financial and physical commodities data to help the team create new research, while learning the basics of commodities trading, how to monitor the markets, and how to model commodities demand and supply through inventory analysis.

You will gain hands-on experience preparing reports and presentations, conducting research and using tools such as Excel, Powerpoint, Bloomberg and AI-enabled technologies. As part of a small, collaborative team, you will be expected to take initiative, solve problems with appropriate guidance and build strong working relationships with team members in New York.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain recurring portfolio, financial and management reports.
• Collect, organize and review data used for management information, dashboards and presentations.
• Conduct high-level fundamental research and analysis on commodities like oil, refined products, metals, natural gas and power.
• Support commodities presentations with Powerpoint slides through related projects and spreadsheets.
• Collaborate with Wholesale Banking product and coverage groups and participate in team meetings, networking and learning activities.

To be considered for the GEM Summer Commodities Intern role, you must have:

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in mathematics, computer science, finance, business, economics, accounting, data analytics or a related field.
• Strong academic performance and an interest in commodities analysis, food and agribusiness, energy, the green energy transition, and metals.
• Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; experience with Bloomberg or AI-enabled tools is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to summarize information clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, take direction and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
• A collaborative, self-motivated approach with initiative and a willingness to learn across teams.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.  Rabobank is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Internship Overview:

Rabobank’s internship program is designed to provide a mutually beneficial relationship and growth opportunity for Rabobank and collegiate students. Salary Expectations:

Target Hiring Range: $49.50/hour

This position is subject to the terms of Rabobank’s compensation plans and policies. It is anticipated that the position will pay within the target hiring range. The range is reflective of the desired primary physical work location and may be adjusted outside of the projected range based on geographical differentiation if the actual work location of the hired candidate differs from the desired primary location, or for other lawful reasons. Further, all full-time regular positions include all other benefits provided to Rabobank employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
