Senior Manager, Compliance Advisory.

This is a pivotal Line 2 role partnering with our Markets, Treasury and Wholesale Banking businesses to ensure compliance risks are proactively managed within appetite while supporting strategic business objectives.

The Opportunity

As a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, you will provide expert compliance guidance across a broad range of regulatory obligations impacting an Authorised Deposit-Taking Institution (ADI). Working closely with senior business leaders, risk partners and regulators, you will play a key role in strengthening our Compliance Management Framework and fostering a culture of accountability, transparency and constructive challenge.

You will lead advisory activities, thematic reviews, incident assessments and compliance monitoring while providing practical, commercially focused advice on complex regulatory matters affecting financial markets, treasury operations and wholesale banking activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary Compliance SME for Markets, Treasury and Wholesale Banking.
  • Provide timely and practical compliance advice on Australian regulatory requirements and Rabobank Group policies.
  • Lead Line 2 review and challenge of incidents, breach assessments and remediation plans.
  • Conduct thematic reviews, monitoring activities and compliance assessments to identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Support implementation of local and global policies, including regulatory change impact assessments and gap analysis.
  • Deliver engaging technical training and coaching across the business and compliance function.
  • Contribute to Board, Executive, Committee and regulatory reporting.
  • Support engagement with key regulators including APRA, ASIC, ATO and other regulatory bodies.
  • Drive continuous enhancement of compliance practices and controls across the organisation.

About You

You are a seasoned compliance leader who combines strong regulatory expertise with commercial acumen and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

You'll bring:

  • 8-10+ years' experience in Compliance, Risk Management or Regulatory Advisory within banking or financial services.
  • Deep knowledge of the Australian regulatory environment, particularly within financial markets, treasury and wholesale banking.
  • Must have strong understanding of ADI and AFSL obligations, OTC derivatives regulation, Design and Distribution Obligations (DDO), transaction reporting requirements and associated market conduct frameworks.
  • Expertise in areas including market misconduct, insider trading, conflicts of interest and conduct risk.
  • Demonstrated experience assessing compliance risk, controls, incidents and breaches.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business outcomes.
  • Experience designing and delivering technical training for diverse audiences.
  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Business, Law or a related discipline.
