About the role | Mō te tūranga

Make an impact where regulation, resilience and transformation come together!

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a significant, multi-year regulatory transformation programme supporting Rabobank’s implementation of the New Zealand Deposit Takers Act (NZ DTA).

With a key focus on Operational Resilience, this is an opportunity to work on a programme that will have a lasting impact on how we protect our critical operations, manage operational risk and strengthen resilience across our business, technology and third-party environments.

Based in Wellington, you’ll work alongside Product Owners and senior stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Operations and Technology, helping turn complex regulatory obligations into practical, sustainable business outcomes.

This is a 12-month fixed-term position.

What you’ll be doing

This is a broad Senior BA role where you’ll be involved across the full delivery lifecycle, from discovery and design through to testing, implementation and adoption.

  • Lead discovery and analysis across complex regulatory and operational resilience requirements
  • Help identify and document critical operations and the processes, systems, people, data and third parties that support them
  • Lead end-to-end process mapping, capturing current-state operations and designing future-state processes and operating models
  • Translate regulatory obligations into clear business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, processes and controls
  • Assess business, operational, technology and organisational impacts
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with stakeholders across the organisation
  • Partner with business and technology teams to shape system, process and control enhancements
  • Support the development of policies, procedures and business readiness materials
  • Maintain requirements, decisions and end-to-end traceability
  • Support testing and assurance activities, including UAT
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions
  • Support implementation and change activities to ensure new requirements are successfully embedded

About you | Ō pūkenga

You’ll bring strong Senior Business Analyst capability, along with the confidence to navigate ambiguity, unpack complex requirements and influence stakeholders across both business and technology.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • 7+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, including experience operating at Senior BA level
  • Experience delivering complex regulatory, risk, compliance or governance initiatives
  • Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, process mapping and traceability skills
  • Experience translating regulatory obligations into practical business requirements, processes and controls
  • Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement capability
  • Experience working across large-scale programmes or multiple interconnected projects
  • Experience supporting change through design, testing and implementation
  • Exposure to New Zealand banking regulation, including the NZ Deposit Takers Act and Operational Resilience requirements, and/or experience with APRA CPS 230
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience

Experience within banking or financial services, operational resilience, business continuity or operational risk would be highly regarded. A Business Analysis certification such as CBAP, CCBA or BCS would also be an advantage.
