Senior Associate Project Finance Australia and New Zealand

We’re hiring for a Senior Associate, Project Finance – Australia & New Zealand to join Rabobank’s growing Project Finance team in Sydney. This role offers the opportunity to help finance the energy transition by supporting the origination, structuring, execution and portfolio management of renewable energy transactions across solar, wind, battery storage and transmission.

You’ll work closely with local Energy Transition coverage teams and Rabobank’s global Project Finance platform, contributing to credit analysis, due diligence, portfolio insights and transaction execution. It’s a great opportunity for someone with strong analytical capability, commercial judgment and a collaborative mindset who wants to build deep expertise in renewable energy infrastructure finance.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting the origination, structuring, execution and monitoring of renewable energy project finance transactions.
• Contributing to credit submissions, financial analysis, due diligence and transaction documentation.
• Helping manage and monitor a portfolio of renewable energy assets, including performance reporting, annual reviews, amendments and waivers.
• Building knowledge of the Australian electricity market, key developers, investors, advisors, regulators and evolving market dynamics.
• Working collaboratively with local Energy Transition coverage bankers and Rabobank’s global Project Finance network.

What you’ll bring:

• Relevant experience in wholesale or institutional banking, project finance, advisory or structured finance in the energy sector.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience or interest in financial modelling, credit assessment and transaction execution.
• Passionate to build out the portfolio management into a centre of expertise for internal commercial and risk partners
• Commercial judgment, risk awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams.
• Curiosity, a growth mindset and a willingness to develop deep sector expertise in renewable energy infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, one-team approach.
