One of our key strengths lies in our kaimahi (employees) who have a deep understanding of agriculture and are committed to adding long-term value for our clients.

Our purpose is clear - ‘growing a better New Zealand together’. Our commitment to our employees and clients is at the heart of everything we do.

We're looking for a highly capable Business Support Manager to join our New Zealand Risk Division and work directly alongside our Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Regional Business Manager & Risk Champion.

This is a unique opportunity to operate at the heart of the business, supporting strategic decision-making, strengthening governance, and helping shape the future of risk management across Rabobank New Zealand.

About the Role

As a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CRO, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of Rabobank New Zealand's business and risk management objectives.

You'll provide insight, analysis, coordination, and operational support across a broad range of business and risk activities, helping drive high-quality governance, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an ideal opportunity for a commercially minded risk professional who enjoys working across strategy, governance, stakeholder management, and business performance.

What You'll Be Doing

In this diverse and influential role, you will:

  • Partner closely with the CRO and Risk Leadership Team to support business and risk management objective
  • Prepare and coordinate Board papers, executive presentations, leadership updates, and strategic communications
  • Provide meaningful insights and analysis on the performance of the New Zealand Risk Division
  • Track and coordinate strategic initiatives, regulatory requirements, and key actions arising from leadership forums
  • Support governance and risk management activities, including operational risk assessments, controls testing, risk profiling, business continuity, and compliance obligations
  • Coordinate staff engagement initiatives and support projects that enhance the Risk Division's effectiveness
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across New Zealand, Australia, and the wider Rabobank Group
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help strengthen a positive risk culture

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong business acumen with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

You'll ideally have:

  • 5-7 years' experience within banking, financial services, or risk management environments
  • Exposure to risk disciplines such as Operational, Credit, or Market Risk
  • Experience supporting senior leaders through reporting, analysis, governance, or business management activities
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI
  • Experience using Archer or similar governance, risk, and compliance systems
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to develop high-quality management and Board-level reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • The confidence and credibility to engage with senior executives and leadership teams

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a values-driven organisation with an ambitious growth strategy. We have a workplace culture that our people are proud of, where we embrace inclusion and belonging and strive to deliver positive experiences for our people and clients.
