About the role | Mō te tūranga
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our NZ DTA (Deposit Takers Act) delivery team. This role will support the delivery of regulatory and business change initiatives, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation and under the guidance of a Senior Business Analyst.
You will play a key role in discovery, requirements analysis, process modelling, and supporting solution delivery to ensure outcomes align with regulatory standards and business needs.
This role is recruited to support Rabobank’s implementation of the New Zealand Deposit Takers Act (NZ DTA), a multi year programme of work representing a significant regulatory change for the New Zealand banking sector.
This is a 12-month fixed-term position.
Key Responsibilities
- Support identification of stakeholders and contribute to building effective working relationships
- Assist with discovery activities, including regulatory interpretation, business needs analysis, and systems analysis
- Translate NZ DTA standards into clear, documented business requirements (e.g. user stories, acceptance criteria)
- Document current-state processes and support the design of future-state processes using approved tools
- Participate in workshops and working sessions, including preparation of materials and documentation of outcomes
- Support review and socialisation of business requirements and solution designs with stakeholders
- Maintain requirements, decisions, and traceability artefacts
- Assist with quality assurance activities, including UAT scenario and test case preparation and execution support
- Identify and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions
- Report progress on assigned deliverables to the Senior Business Analyst or Project Manager
- Contribute as a delivery team member to achieving project milestones and objectives
About you | Ō pūkenga
You are an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in financial services and a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving. You are comfortable working in both agile and traditional delivery environments and can communicate complex concepts clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in finance, accounting, information systems, or a related discipline, and/or relevant vocational certification (e.g. CBAP)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business analysis role
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a financial services environment
Desirable:
- Experience in corporate or banking environments
- Experience working in a matrix or global organisation
- Exposure to regulatory change initiatives
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, and traceability skills
- Experience with process modelling and business analysis tools
- Understanding of operational risk, compliance, and regulatory frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage priorities and work autonomously
- Proficiency with MS Office and tools such as Visio, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, JIRA, or Confluence
- Experience facilitating workshops and working sessions
