Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The role includes:

  • Support senior team members in the day-to-day information flow with clients and third-parties in a (face paced) transaction execution setting
  • Perform all aspects of underwriting (including ability to model the business, analyze risk issues and structure a transaction and function independently to contribute to transaction analysis), approving, closing a transaction and post investment portfolio management on select transactions
  • Identify and analyze credit risks in transactions (specifically, LBO financing, acquisition financing, debt refinancing and recapitalizations) working with potential borrowers, private equity teams and other lenders.  Actively participate in the credit application process including due diligence, comparable transaction analysis, structural/credit documentation analysis
  • Participate in meetings and calls and develop ability clearly and effectively communicate questions, issues and decisions to all external and internal constituents, stakeholders
  • Interact with Sponsor Coverage, Senior Relationship Bankers, Risk Management, Debt Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, M&A, Legal, Compliance, and Middle Office to deliver solutions to clients which are risk-appropriate, suitable and remunerative
  • Coordinate NDA and compliance process to enable information sharing; develop/create ad hoc reports and analysis to support coverage bankers and portfolio management; coordinate the onboarding of new clients and assist with maintaining the know-your-customer files for the group

  • Develop and master analytical skills with a focus on modeling and credit analysis skills
  • Participate and contribute to preparation of credit memoranda and leveraged loan underwriting with accuracy, in depth analysis and attention to detail

  • Contribute to team building efforts
  • Take an active role in coaching and training new joiners


  • Adhere to compliance regulations (100% compliance)

Job Skills and Knowledge (Essential):

Candidate should be proficient in modelling skills and demonstrate strong analytical abilities. This person should have a strong desire to build their knowledge of banking laws and regulations. They should demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn Rabobank policies and procedures. Candidate should have a strong commitment to further developing leveraged transaction experience including preparation of credit application and negotiation of credit documentation.

Qualifications (Essential):

  • 3+ years’ experience (within an Investment Banking/Leveraged Finance environment is preferred)
  • Formal credit training preferred, excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Basic financial accounting, strong research skills, attention to detail/work ethic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • FINRA licenses: SIE, Series 79 and Series 63 will need to be obtained if not already possessed
  • Undergraduate degree with a concentration in finance or related studies
  • Strong undergraduate record

Salary Expectations

Target Hiring Range:
$115,000 - $185,000

This position is subject to the terms of Rabobank’s compensation plans and policies.  It is anticipated that the position will pay within the target hiring range.  The range is reflective of the desired primary physical work location and may be adjusted outside of the projected range based on geographical differentiation if the actual work location of the hired candidate differs from the desired primary location, or for other lawful reasons.  Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to Rabobank employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
