Rabobank works in a rapidly changing IT landscape. The HR IT Systems department is responsible for implementing and maintaining IT applications for HR, with the objective of a positive employee journey for all Rabobank employees around the world. After global implementation of Workday as Rabobank’s core HR application,  there are high ambitions to further improve the employee journeys by digitalization and simplification of HR IT landscape. As a Solution Architect you will be  part of a diverse and enthusiastic department where your role will be to give direction in architecture and complex design questions. You follow market trends and bring your knowledge to the team and lead the vision for modern and digital employee journeys.

For IT cluster Global HR, part of domain Risk, Finance & Compliance, we are looking for a Solution Architect. As a solution architect you connect the worlds of the data, application architecture and software development. You translate business requirements into a design that fits into the (enterprise) architecture. You will be part of a diverse and involved team that takes ownership to further digitalize Rabobank’s HR IT landscape making in future proof.

Your role will have following characteristics:

  • You are the linking ping between the Business architects and Business Analysts on the one hand and the DevOps teams on the other hand;

  • You connect worlds of the application architecture, software development, data and operational maintenance;

  • Your focus is on translating requirements into the architecture and design that ultimately constitute the blueprint for the solution;

  • You rely on your experience in design patterns, published reference architectures and guidance from Business Architects;

  • You are responsible for the quality from the technical design to the realized solution, including integrations/interfaces;

  • You set up Project Start Architectures and Technical Application Specifications;

  • You actively participate in creating solutions and making choices in various attention areas;

  • You coach DevOps teams in design choices and in safeguarding architecture principles;


What we are looking for in you:

  • Completed University  or equivalent education;

  • At least 3 year of experience in a similar function in an IT environment;

  • Experience with cloud technologies and trends (preferably in HR field);

  • Experience with designing and presenting  solutions, modelling target architecture and translating this to standards and guidelines;

  • Excellent communication skills: able to explain, persuade and justify decisions and concepts to people at all levels;

  • Good understanding of  security principles and  privacy related topics;

  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices;

  • Preferred experience in HR field:

  • Understanding of end-to-end Employee Journeys;

  • Experience with HR cloud applications such as Workday or Fieldglass;

  • Personal skills and qualities:

  • Ability to grasp complex environments;

  • Critical eye and skilled to give constructive feedback;

  • Are able to think independently and act as a team player;

  • Result driven and focused;
