Intern Grains & Oilseeds team
Imagine you can contribute to an even better Rabobank. A responsibility with real impact which you shape as an Intern joining Rabobank’s RaboResearch Food&Agribusiness (‘RRFA’) department. RRFA is at the core of the bank’s strategy ‘Feeding the World Sustainably by 2050’. RRFA consists of about 90 analysts across the world that each are dedicated to one or more food and agribusiness sectors.
This internship is within RRFA is in the Grains & Oilseeds team that is responsible for research related to the commodities market globally and with particular focus to Europe and Africa regions. During the internship there will be a strong interaction and cooperation with the Global Data Analytics Team.
Create an impact
We are looking for an intern for a 4-5 months period who is interested in working with Grains & Oilseeds and Global Data Analytics Team, in which Rabobank has its top agricultural clients. Building on the existing research, the main research questions and topics are:
To gather data from different sources (public and subscribed) in order to build complete database related to:
the Global Grains & Oilseeds supply and demand, trade and prices
Company financials of key Grains & Oilseeds industry players
From the data gathered, construct supply and demand balance tables for Grains & Oilseeds in order to build regional balance sheets and trade matrices. Data includes trade flows, consumption, stocks and production.
Process gathered data and construct database which will be used for mapping the main assets of Grains & Oilseeds players in Europe. This includes preparing an overview of key players (capacity, technology, stage of operation, investors, feedstock used etc.).
With your talents
If we ask your friends to describe you in a few key words, the answer should be: analytical , driven, passionate about agriculture, customer-oriented, self-motivated, team builder, and pleasant to work with.
In addition to those competencies, it is important for this specific role that you recognize the following as well:
You are intrinsically interested in this topic and have an intuitive mind
You are driven and enthusiastic, with strong research and problem solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
You should have a relevant academic background in: Data Sciences, Agriculture Economics or Agribusiness (preferred); but Agronomy, Economics or Business Administration will be considered as secondary priority.
Proficiency in Excel and to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets and create tables with built-in formulas.
Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) a plus.
Experience in Power BI and Macros a plus.
You are enrolled in university during the entire internship and currently living in the Netherlands.
