About the Role
Rabobank is seeking a Financial Economic Crime (FEC) Data Management Analyst to be based in Sydney. In this role you will act as a Data Steward, ensuring our data is accurate, trusted, & well‑governed. You will partner closely with the Data Management Office, technology teams, & business leaders to define key data elements, resolve data quality issues, & uplift data governance practices.
In this varied role you will balance day‑to‑day data issues with long‑term governance improvements. Your work will be pivotal enhancing how our data is understood, used,& maintained.
Top Role Accountabilities:
- At as the steward for critical FEC data, ensuring alignment with Data Management Norms & Forms
- Define & maintain data definitions, metadata, & lineage
- Conduct data risk assessments & help design & embed mitigating controls
- Establish & monitor data quality checks & thresholds
- Identify, log, & drive remediation of data issues working across business, risk, operations, & IT
- Support end‑to‑end data lifecycle activities, ensuring compliant data creation, maintenance, usage, & retirement
- Work with model owners & IT to improve data sourcing, traceability, & quality
- Provide guidance on data governance standards & best practices
- Assist with regulatory, audit, & model risk management requirements
- Contribute to data maturity uplift through tools, templates, training, & continuous improvement
- Provide insights & recommendations to improve data quality & minimise data risk

- Timely resolution of data issues & clear documentation of governance artefacts
- Improved consistency in how data is defined, used, & understood across teams
- Strong relationships with data owners, tech teams, & business stakeholders
- Uplifted team behaviours, principles, and data governance capability
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience in data analysis, governance, data stewardship, data quality, or a related data‑risk function (1 - 3 years + years ideal)
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, & attention‑to‑detail skills
- Experience with data quality assessments, root cause analysis, & remediation
- Familiarity with workflow & metadata tools (e.g. Collibra, BPMN)
- The ability to digest complex requirements, research the correct sources of data needed
- The ability to interpret regulatory/data requirements & understand their operational impact
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts for non‑technical audiences
- Strong stakeholder management across business & technology
- Ability to work in ambiguity & adapt to evolving data & regulatory needs
- An understanding of the AML/CTF program & other compliance requirements highly regarded
- Financial services experience is beneficial but not essential
