As an Area Architect, you will be helping to build microservices and web applications that make digital banking possible worldwide.

For this position it is logical that you need to understand our growing customer needs. You can achieve this by having an unstoppable hunger and drive to work with the latest techniques and cutting-edge technologies. In addition, it’s important that you recognize yourself in the following checklist:

  • You have at minimum a completed (technical) bachelor degree;

  • You have broad experience with working in large organizations on complex technological landscapes;

  • You are familiar with the rituals of Agile / Scrum;

  • You have an opinion and an open view on the future;

  • You embrace changes and self-leadership is in your DNA;

  • An Architect who can support/be responsible for Area Architecture in cooperation with the Tribe/Area architect;

  • Background in software development (experienced developer) and architecture design in an enterprise environment;

  • Knowledge of bank processes (preferable), CX, Services, API's, Microservices, DevOps, Cloud;

  • Analytical skills and the capability to connect the dots on holistic level and on development/solution level; 

  • Great in making complex subjects simple and to present, communicate, discuss with architects on different levels, developers and business representatives (area leads, product owners);

  • Together with other Squad architects define area standards to follow;

Target architecture on area level

  •        Translate Area Product vision and technological innovations into an architectural landscape;

  •        Shape the IT roadmap/vision for the area;

  •        Decide and align on architectural topics;

  •        Communicate Target Architecture on Area level;

  •        Guiding and monitoring architectural development into solution architecture;

Monitoring Architectural Development

  •        Guide Solution Architecture for new initiatives (PSA's) and keep stakeholders involved;

  •        Monitor compliance to Enterprise Architecture and Target Architecture  together with business and IT;

  •        Organise the decision-making on proposed deviations of Target Architecture;

  •        Drive backlogs to solve architectural (technical) debts and deviations;

Support Transparent Decision Making

  •        Cross area alignment on architectural principles;

  •        Provide insight and clear overviews of complex aspects such as how our processes are supported by the application landscape;

  •        Explain consequences of alternative scenarios (what-if analysis);

  •        The Area Architect is responsible for some key processes regarding people and talent management;

People and Talent Management

  •        Exemplary role in Agile mindset and in striving towards best of class quality;

  •        Create a culture of excellence and continuous learning;

  •        Responsible for guiding squads in working with an architectural mindset;

  •        Supports the strategic resource planning of Lead Business Analysts and Solution Architects;

  • a fee for standby services

  • flexibility in working hours and location-independent working;

  • 100% reimbursement of commuting if you travel with public transport! Do you still prefer to travel by car or motorbike? Then choose a home/work travel allowance;

  • A monthly work-from-home allowance of € 40,- nett, based on working from home 5 days per week;

  • a pension scheme to which you contribute only 3,5%.
