Rabo Kitchen
A hybrid work environment where we have embedded our Rabo transitions
Rabo Kitchen is a sustainable hybrid work and meeting space at our headquarters in Utrecht that echoes the Rabo transitions of food supply and energy & climate in the name. The food system transition and energy transition intersect in the kitchen. The refrigerator is powered by the electricity grid and stores our food. On the stove, we prepare the home-cooked meals that we serve. Together we work towards a more sustainable way of living and doing business, this is why everyone is welcome to join us at our kitchen table and why we named this area Rabo Kitchen.

Where it all began…
It all began at my kitchen table. I invited farmers and citizens to pull up a chair and discuss how we could work together more. Over the years, that kitchen and that table have continued to play a central role within Rabobank. With our clients and members gathered around the table, physically or digitally, we’re able to develop cooperative solutions that help them and the greater society move forward. This hybrid work model requires a space where you can not only roll up your sleeves and get to work, but where you can also gather and enjoy each other’s company.
At Rabobank, we focus on progressing transitions dear to our customers and to society. For current generations key challenges lie in becoming more sustainable in food and energy. The food system transition and energy transition intersect in the kitchen. The refrigerator is powered by the electricity grid and stores our food. On the stove, we prepare the home-cooked meals that we serve. Together we work towards a more sustainable way of living and doing business, this is why everyone is welcome to join us at our kitchen table.
I, Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, am glad that my kitchen is still a warm and inviting place where people can gather and work in equal measure. A space that highlights our transitions and allows them to converge so beautifully.
Welcome and enjoy the world of Rabo Kitchen!

Hybrid work environment
Rabo Kitchen is a perfect space for gathering, working, collaborating, learning and becoming inspired. Exactly as our hybrid working philosophy – Rabo@Anywhere – dictates.
There is a broad variety of meeting rooms/areas. The whole working environment has been completely renovated, made more sustainable, and designed according to the principles of hybrid working.
Below a small impression of some of our renovated and new meeting areas. All spaces are equipped with new audio visual tools in order to support hybrid working and the Rabo@Anywhere philosophy ‘meet your team’ and ‘meet others’.
Food outlets
In Rabo Kitchen you will find two main food outlets that are both offering a special serving experience;
- Het Proeflokaal – a served dinning concept runned by employees of The Colour Kitchen. Their employees have a distance to the labor market and are helped to do their jobs to the best of their ability. This way ‘Het ProefLokaal’ wastes zero talent! More information (in Dutch) about The Colour Kitchen can be found here.
- Sign language coffee bar – a coffee bar runned by certified baristas who are hearing impaired/ disabled. You can order while you gesticulate and make use of the menu on a video screen. This way you enjoy your coffee moment, learn something new and connect with people in a different way.
