Making a difference
As a Solution Architect, you can make a difference by bringing your extensive knowledge and experience to the table. You are the one connecting the world of the application architecture and software development. You translate business requirements into a technical design that fits into the (enterprise) architecture. Furthermore, you are the linking pin between the Architects and the DevOps teams on the other hand.
As a Solution Architect you are the driving force behind the application architecture of the Insurance & Pension Tribe and the applications that surround our customer journeys. We expect you to not simply do initial architecture envisioning, and perhaps "support" teams by reviewing their work occasionally, but frequently interact with the teams, participate in refinement sessions and design activities that are part of the sprints.
You create application architecture as extension of the business architecture guidance given. You perform governance on architectural principles to the solutions to achieve and maintain a low TCO. Besides, you help teams in understanding and growing in their maturity and autonomy with regards to architecture.
You clarify architecture for stories to be estimated and planned by the teams. You have a fast response and work closely with the teams. Next to that you support teams and stakeholders to control progress on the software development process.
Your activities are mainly focused around the following areas:
You are the linking ping between the Business architects on one hand and the DevOps teams on the other hand.
You connect worlds of the application architecture, software development and operational maintenance.
Your focus is on translating requirements into the architecture and design that ultimately constitute the blueprint for the solution.
You rely on your experience in design patterns, published reference architectures and guidance from Business Architects.
You are responsible for the quality from the technical design to the realized solution, including integrations/interfaces.
You set up Project Start Architectures and Technical Application Specifications.
You actively participate in creating solutions and making choices in various attention areas.
You are aware of the challenges to get complex chains working that go beyond the purview of a single program and you are capable of getting them to work.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. You will work closely with the IT Leads, Solution Architects and the Business Architect in Area Private Lines within Tribe Insurance & Pension. Next to that, you can expect a lot of collaboration with fellow architects from other Rabobank departments. You will also work the Product Owners, Product Managers and the IT leads and chain partners to achieve our goals.
You will be part of Tribe Insurance & Pension and actively contribute to our tribe goal to become the best, most innovative and data-driven insurance and pension intermediary in the Netherlands. Besides, you bring a good deal of technical experience: Microsoft Azure, Java / Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, GraphQL, Angular and Oracle API Management.

Fluent in English and Dutch, both verbally and in writing. Non-Dutch speaking candidates will not be taken into consideration.
Completed HBO- or WO-equivalent education
Minimum 7 years of work experience in a software development environment
Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
Experienced in concepts of development in Domain-Driven Design, API first and 12 factor apps
Affinity with Middleware and IT Infrastructure
Experience in CI/CD (with Jenkins and/or Azure DevOps)
Agile/Scrum and DevOps, knowledge and experience
Experience with public and hybrid cloud solutions and application migrations
Knowledge/experience in security principles, interface concepts, risk management concepts, development- & test methods.
Working experience in a similar role is a strong advantage
